Our Business Partners

Affording Opportunities

For more than a decade, Clorox Australia has worked with third-party manufacturers that employ adults with disabilities. One of these suppliers is the Australian Foundation for Disability (AFFORD), which provides support for more than 900 people with intellectual, physical, psychiatric and sensory disabilities. Workers from AFFORD handle packaging assembly for everything from GladWare® containers to promotional materials for Armor All® auto-care products. "They are some of the most passionate, hard-working folks around," says the supply chain director for Clorox Australia. "They do a great job and truly model our company's values. This is an opportunity for us to contract with diverse suppliers, and it makes good business sense."

Our commitment to treating people with dignity, respect and equal opportunity extends to our business partners.

We conduct our business with honesty and integrity, and we expect our business partners' values and business practices to mirror ours regarding compliance with the law, product quality, safety, human rights, treatment of employees and environmental compliance.

Before contracting with a supplier, our sourcing organization conducts a comprehensive assessment including factors such as capabilities, quality and safety standards, ethics, and alignment with our strategy and core values.

Supplier Code of Conduct

Clorox’s Supplier Code of Conduct was developed specifically to address business practices of our third party suppliers, their parent companies and affiliates. Our code, based on the International Labour Organization (ILO) Core Labor Conventions as established by the tripartite UN affiliated agency, outlines our expectations that suppliers share our commitments in the areas of human rights and labor, health and safety, the environment and business conduct and ethics.

We strive to do business with suppliers that reflect the diversity of our employees, retail customers and consumers. If you are interested in becoming a supplier for The Clorox Company, the first step is to complete our on-line registration form. Learn More

Expanding Our Base of Diverse Suppliers and Diverse Spending

The Clorox Company initiated a supplier diversity programs in 2008. While still in the early stages, we're making progress. In the first two years, we have more than doubled our diverse spend with certified suppliers to about 2 percent of total spending. We have also established a three-year strategy to increase our total diverse spend to 5 percent by 2013, and will strive to exceed that floor.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, our needs are greatest for certified diverse suppliers who offer goods and/or services in the areas of:

  • facilities services
  • talent acquisition/recruiting
  • freight payments auditing

Since most of our spending occurs outside the Bay Area, where our manufacturing and other operations are located, we are also interested in certified diverse suppliers with the ability to offer large-scale, national services in the areas of:

  • pumps
  • power transmission
  • bearings
  • facilities services
