A Commitment Through Action to Promote Diversity and Equal Opportunity

For Clorox, diversity is much more than just an initiative, a set of values or a mission statement. It is a true measure of our ability to grow our organization in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

We hire and promote employees, as well as work with business partners on the basis of their ability. Clorox does not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, gender, disability, age, marital status, citizenship status, veteran status, sexual orientation or status regarding public assistance and has zero tolerance for discrimination. We are proud that Clorox exceeds the U.S. census in all categories. We are also proud of the following statistics:

  • 52 percent of Clorox employees are women. We also rank 14th among the top 25 companies in California* with women in director and executive positions.
  • 20 percent of our senior managers (vice presidents) are minorities, including Asian, African American, Hispanic and Pacific Islander.
  • 25 percent of our senior directors are minorities, including Asian, African American, Hispanic and Pacific Islander.
  • 49 percent of senior directors and above (vice presidents, senior vice presidents, executive vice presidents) are women.

We strive to create an inclusive environment where people’s differences are embraced. We believe the experiences, skills and insights of people from all types of backgrounds enrich our corporate culture, improve our employees’ effectiveness and satisfaction, and ultimately contribute to our performance. That means hiring people who reflect the diversity of consumers who use our products and the communities where we do business. It also means supporting the professional growth and development of all of our employees.

Our commitment is further extended to our suppliers, who reflect the increasingly diverse consumers of our products. Ensuring all suppliers have equal access is just as important as employee diversity and multicultural marketing. It enables us to gain a unique level of insight and perspective on what is important to consumers.

A Resource for Every Employee

Creating an inspired workforce that is rich in diversity is a key component of our People strategy. In support of this objective, Clorox has created five employee resource groups (ERGs). Open to all employees, each ERG ensures every employee has access to support, inspiration, and personal and professional development.

An important part of our diversity and inclusion strategy, ERGs not only help to build professional relationships, but also promote and retain exceptional employees, provide insights on multicultural marketing and supplier diversity initiatives, and support our community outreach programs.

Employees are welcome to join any of these ERGs:

  • African American
  • Asian
  • Clorox Pride (GLBT)
  • Latinos for Excellence, Advancement & Development (LEAD)
  • Support, Heart & Opportunity for Women (SHOW)

A Partnership for Diversity

As a steward of diversity, The Clorox Company is proud to partner with and sponsor professional organizations to grow their influence and reach, as well as to give minority candidates a platform for empowerment and achievement.

Clorox is networking with companies that have headquarters or operations in the San Francisco Bay Area to form strategic alliances to increase the overall diversity talent pool. Through dialogue and a shared passion to identify top talent, we host a number of diversity summit events to connect companies with members of professional organizations.
