The Clorox Company Foundation

Since founding The Clorox Company Foundation in 1980, we have awarded more than $77 million to schools, colleges and nonprofit organizations supporting K-12 education, youth development and cultural and civic enrichment.

Clorox People Care

Follow your heart ...and Clorox will follow you.We believe that by working together we can make a difference. The culture of Clorox is one of giving back to others, and our employees make a big impact with their talent and enthusiasm for doing the right thing. Our employees also generously give of their time and money, and we support their efforts by offering volunteer grants to those nonprofit organizations they hold dear and by matching employee charitable contributions through our workplace giving campaign, Getting Involved for Tomorrow (GIFT). The campaign, which is currently available to regular employees in the U.S. and Canada, matches employee contributions to any nonprofit organization of their choosing up to $2,500 per employee. In addition, our Higher Education Matching Gifts Program matches up to an additional $5,000 per employee to eligible U.S. higher education programs.

Each year, Clorox employees give back to the community through volunteer programs sponsored at a corporate or brand level. Whether it’s teaching classes through Junior Achievement, helping to clean and beautify neighborhoods through Keep America Beautiful or supporting Marcus A. Foster Education Institute, Clorox people embrace our tradition of lending a hand.

Teaching for Junior Achievement: Opening the Hearts and Minds of Youth

Caring about the youthEach year more than one hundred Clorox employees volunteer their time with Junior Achievement, a world-renowned organization whose mission is to educate and inspire young people about how business works. Clorox employees volunteer their time with Junior Achievement in a variety of ways, including teaching classes. In addition, The Clorox Company Foundation supports Junior Achievement with grant funding.

Pro Bono Legal Services for Oakland’s Family Violence Law Center: Support and Intervention for Women and their families.

For the last four years, Clorox has been sending volunteer attorneys to the Alameda County Courthouse to help where they are desperately needed: assisting victims of domestic violence, in obtaining restraining orders against their abusers. Many cases involve underserved people in urban Oakland, and virtually all cases are heart-wrenching. Clorox volunteers attend the proceedings in support of the Family Violence Law Center, which offers a variety of support services to victims of domestic violence, ranging from temporary housing for battered victims to legal services.

Clorox Brands Make a Difference

Every year, we also extend a helping hand to those in need all over the world by donating millions of dollars worth of products such as Clorox® regular bleach and Glad® trash bags through organizations like the American Red Cross to support victims of natural disasters.

Community Dialogue and Engagement

Clorox makes sure we engage with and support our communities wherever we conduct business. In each state and country in which we operate, we are a member of the local chambers of commerce, other local business coalitions and industry trade associations to ensure Clorox engages with the community on local issues. We also work with local law and safety organizations to make sure we are prepared for emergencies and that these organizations are familiar with our safety procedures.
